First Artist

The adventure will begin on the 7th of April with Singer/Songwriter Simon Batten. Here is his facebook page.

I met him at Catweazle, the most magical open-mic night ever invented, and have been a fan (as in I thoroughly enjoy his music, not the giro-cooling device) ever since! If the weather allows, I’ll be recording him under an acoustically interesting bridge in Wolvercote,Oxford. I hope you’ll enjoy his music at least as much as I do.

Call for sponsors or anyone willing to help

Today is the day when I finally launch this website! As from now expect to see regular updates during the trip’s organisation!

At this stage of the preparations, my main concern is gathering all the necessary equipment for recording and cycling. Which is why I am calling out for sponsors or maybe benefactors (if I’m lucky!). If you think you can be a direct help – please get in contact – or otherwise share this website with people around you!

Thank you!

Hello

Hello world!

Welcome to the webspace for the Record and Ride Project.

Introductions are necessary: I am Nicholas O’Brien – a trilingual sound engineer and a musician with a penchant for cycling adventures. Doppler is my bicycle.

Record and Ride Project was born from the fusion of my interests. Indeed, the project is a four to five months cycling trip around Europe and further recording musician, spoken word, theatre or any other audible performances. Like travelling through a social web, the route taken will be chosen by the artists: each artist recorded will lead me to another artist of his or her acquaintance.

All the recordings and updates from the trip, from its preparation to its completion, will be available for your perusal and curiosity on this website.

The trip will begin on Saturday the 7th April 2012.

Please feel free to email me if you would like to get involved.

Yours Grooverely,
Nicholas O’Brien.
